If you want to visit the Agafay Desert and want to find the best camps there, you‘ve come to the right place.
I‘ve been to the Agafay Desert many times in Morocco. Some Agafay Desert camps are hot, but some aren’t.
It‘s also worth noting that the Agafay Desert is a quick 35 or 45-minute drive from Marrakech, but there aren’t a lot of public transportation options. Foreigners are the only people here. Locals usually have their own motorbikes or cars if they live here. If you want to visit, you will have to take a private transfer or take bus 33.
The problem with the bus is that it won’t drop you off at the camp.
So, you still need a ride from the bus stop to the camp. The Agafay Desert is a rock desert, not sand.
Don’t expect to see huge sand dunes like the Sahara when you visit. Instead, you will see lots of dirt and rocks on a lot of land.
But if you like solitude and like to do things like quad biking or camel riding, a stay in the Agafay Desert of Morocco may be right for you.
Let’s check out the best places to stay in the Agafay Desert if I were staying there for the night.
