There are other desert tours available from Marrakech. If you don’t have much time to travel, the Agafay Desert is a great place to visit for just one day. It is only 30 minutes from Marrakech and is a good place to do outdoor activities. You won’t find golden sand dunes there. Instead, you’ll find rocky desert with a great view of the High Atlas Mountains. Also, it is close enough to be an easy start to quad biking.

The Agafay Desert is located 40 kilometers from Marrakech, between Lake Lalla Takerkoust and the High Atlas Mountains. The road from Marrakech to the Agafay Desert is smooth and easy to drive. This is less than an hour’s drive.

The Agafay Desert is about 30 kilometers southwest of Marrakech, near the High Atlas Mountains. On the Agafay excursion from Marrakech, you will explore the desert and landfill at sunset. The Agafay Desert is covered with wildflowers in spring, but in summer it looks like a dry desert with red and white hills and a beautiful view of the High Atlas Mountains in the background.
